CARICOM hopes to renegotiate EPAPORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad
Caribbean Community (CARICOM)
countries will sign the
Economic Partnership Agreement
(EPA) with Europe on as planned,
but they are still hoping to renegotiate the
deal afterwards, CARICOM Chairman
Baldwin Spencer has said.
Spencer, who is also the Prime Minister
of Antigua and Barbuda, told reporters
that it is likely that the agreement hammered
out last year between Europe and
the Caribbean Forum (CARIFORUM)
which includes CARICOM and the Dominican
Republic, would be signed by individual
countries on that date.
