New Barbados ministers take oath of Office
BRIDGETOWN, Barbados

The new ministers in the Owen Arthur-led administration were recently sworn into office during a short ceremony at Government House, before immediately getting down to business.

Governor General Sir Clifford Husbands administered the oath of office to former Opposition Leader Clyde Mascoll, and backbenchers Reverend Joseph Atherley and Trevor Prescod who were named as ministers in the new line-up announced Saturday.

Mascoll, who resigned from the opposition Democratic Labor Party (DLP) last month, shortly after giving up the position as Leader of the Opposition, was accompanied by his wife Cyriline Thomas-Mascoll, herself a former DLP senator.

The formalities were over within minutes and the three newcomers made their way to their respective ministries to get down to business.
