Indian Entrepreneur’s Passion for Science Inspires Her to Establish IT Business
Washington D.C.

A love of science had Payal Tak teaching fine arts to budding artists while pursuing an education in Life Sciences at the very tender age of 14. Following her heart, Tak migrated to United States in mid 1980s from India to continue her education. The love she had for Life Sciences soon gave way to Computer Science earning Tak academic degrees in Computer Science and in Telecommunications Systems Management from Villanova University, Villanova, Pennsylvania and Johns Hopkins, University, Baltimore, Maryland, respectively.

Tak began climbing the career ladder in the Information Technology industry at the Computer Sciences Corporation where she undertook several challenging assignments and was recognized for her significant contributions and leadership skills. She led a highly successful User Acceptance Test of a multi-million dollar telecommunications billing system that is in use in national and international telecommunication markets today. Her next career climb was an assignment that placed her in the heart of the fast-paced commercial telecommunication industry at Nextel Communications where she led several projects.
