Cuban Reggaeton Star Feared Dead

CaribWorldNews, MIAMI, FL, Tues. April 15, 2008:
Cuban reggaeton star, Elvis Manuel, is feared dead, after trying to flee Cuba on a raft.
U.S. Coast Guard officials have called off the search and rescue operation into the disappearance of Manuel, a week after he and other musicians and family members went missing after their raft collapsed.
His mother and manager, Irioska Maria Nodarse, and 13 others were found in the Florida Straits on Wednesday, according to Telemundo reports. They have been returned to Cuba by Coast Guard officials, much to the outrage of some Cuban Americans in Miami.
But so far there has been no sign of Manuel, 19, and four others, including musicians, Carlos Rojas Hernandez, who performs as DJ Carlitos, and Alejandro Rodriguez Lopez, known as DJ Jerry. Manuel`s recent singles included `El Chula,` “La Tuba” and “La Mulata.`
Hundreds of fans last night continued to leave messages of concern and sorrow on Manuel’s MySpace page. - CaribWorldNews.com
